Details
This is a bonafide mil spec ammo can, freshly released from duty by the U.S. Armed Forces. It’s designed to hold ammo for the ferocious M2A1 heavy machine gun, but even if you don’t want to store 50 BMG rounds you’ll find the container more than spacious enough to hold copious amounts of 223 Rem, 308 Win, 9mm, or 22 LR ammo, boxed or loose. This can’s integral rubber gasket seals tightly to keep out moisture that could corrupt ammunition during long term storage, and its strong steel handle, latch, and walls make taking everything you need for a day at the range a breeze.
We bought a giant pile of used ammo cans from Uncle Sam, which is why we’re able to sell this surplus can for a song. We have divided our cans up into two categories -- good, and fair -- and have determined this can to be one of the better ones. It may have tiny spots of cosmetic rust on its corners, but not inside. It may have been scuffed a bit while on duty, but the can has no dents, bends, or paint that obscures its original stenciling. It may have a touch of dirt and grime on it as well, but we call that character.
We chose one of the more beat up ammo cans to photograph for this product page, but the one that we send you will almost certainly be in better shape. We prefer to under promise and over deliver, is all.
