Do you remember the scene in the movie Casino where Joe Pesci beat the ever loving snot out of some guy at a bar because he was rude to De Niro about returning his pen? It might be Hollywood, but it’s a good demonstration that big results can come out of small packages. The Shorty Shotshell by Federal is no exception -- this 1 3/4 inch shotshell may be small enough to toss into your pocket with ease, but its power, accuracy, and point of impact are are in no way less than what its full-length brother would provide.
This shell’s loaded with 15/16 ounces of #8 shot, which is a great size for target shooting. However you’d use it, you’re going to benefit from Federal’s premium plastic hull, responsive primer, and modern, clean burning propellant. Needless to say this shell will work fine in a break action, but many pump actions are going to feed it just fine too, even if they need an adaptor to get there. You’ll be able to load a lot more of these shells into a tubular magazine than what you’re accustomed, so squirrels -- watch out!
