This cartridge’s 125 grain projectile doesn’t do subsonic. Its 2,329 fps muzzle velocity will make a cracking report right before the bullet proceeds along a flat and accurate trajectory. The hollow point boat tail bullet’s nose cavity isn’t designed to initiate terminal expansion – the HPBT’s terminal ballistics are actually more or less interchangeable with an FMJ’s. The opening in the jacket’s tip allowed Prvi Partizan to create a form-fitted lead core, which promotes great in-flight stability alongside the HPBT’s concentric jacket. The HPBT’s sleek profile and drag-minimizing boat tail both work toward conserving more downrange velocity.
