Details
This self-defense 40 S&W cartridge is designed for police officers, but is also available to the private shooter who prefers to load the very best in their carry weapon. This round features Speer’s G2 projectile, a technologically advanced jacketed hollow point. The bullet’s core and jacket are electrochemically bonded together, and nearly incapable of tearing apart as they pass through heavy clothing, plywood, and even steel plating. That ensures the weight retention required for deep terminal penetration.
This bullet’s hollow point nose cavity is equally impressive. It’s relatively shallow, and filled with a supple elastomer material. When the G2 bullet meets resistance from its target, that elastomer is forced down into the core’s internal fissures to spread them evenly apart. As the result the G2 delivers highly reliable and uniform expansion for fast neutralization of a threat.
This round’s brass shell casing is nickel plated. Low-friction nickel helps a semi-automatic weapon cycle more efficiently and prevent jamming. Nickel also resists corrosion, and its inherent shininess makes it easier to see a round in the chamber. Speer’s propellant yields a steady 910 fps muzzle velocity out of a 5” barrel for predictable ballistic performance.
