Despite what its misprinted boxes might say, this ammo truly is 5.56x45 M193 – not 223 Rem.

Q: Kinda new at this so what does the 45 stand foe in the 5.56X45

A: Hi Ted! Many cartridges are named in this fashion. The naming system works like this: (bullet diameter)x(case length). If a cartridge is named "5.56," then its case length is necessarily 45mm.
Q: Would this be okay to shoot at metal targets?

A: Yes sir, but I would recommend maintaining a distance of at least 100 yards between yourself and the targets in order to minimize the risk of splash-back.
