Details
Steel-cased ammunition is typically loaded with bimetal jacketed bullets. These bullets contain steel, which is why many indoor ranges ban “magnetic” ammo.
But not all steel-cased ammo is loaded with magnetic bullets! This case of 7.62x39 by Wolf is a glowing exception.
This cartridge is loaded with a traditional FMJ, which has a solid lead core and solid gilding metal jacket. The 122 grain bullet alone cannot attract a magnet, thus making it fully compliant with range policies that prohibit magnetic projectiles.
And you’ll still pay less for this AK-47 and SKS ammo, because Wolf loads it with their standard budget-friendly steel cases! These are coated in polymer to reduce metal-on-metal friction during feeding and extraction to promote more reliable functionality. Wolf’s Berdan primers are completely non-corrosive, although you wouldn’t want to bother trying to handload steel cases unless there were literally no other way to get ammo.
