Steel. It is all around you. It is in your car. It is in your refrigerator. And thanks to high school football, it is even in some folks’ skulls. But did you know that steel can also be inside 9mm ammunition? It’s true, and it’s why MAXXTech Essential Steel is so friendly to the wallet.
This cartridge swaps out costly copper-laden components in favor of economical steel ones. Its 115 grain full metal jackets have normal lead cores, but those FMJs’ bi-metal exteriors are almost 100% steel. MAXXTech Essential Steel ammo’s cases are also made of steel instead of brass, which is just another reason why you’ll be able to save big bucks while you’re punching down range targets.
Here are two important caveats about this ammo for your consideration: Bi-metal jackets will attract a magnet and are accordingly unwelcome at certain ranges, and steel cases are useless for handloading purposes. This ammunition is made for MAXXTech by Tula of Russia, and its Berdan primers aren’t capable of producing corrosive residues.
