The 22 Long Rifle cartridge is, somewhat ironically, not all that long. But that doesn’t mean you can’t spend a long time entertaining yourself with all your favorite 22 LR pistols and rifles. All you have to do is one very smart thing: order yourself a 1,100-round case of 22 LR by Federal Premium!
This round takes care of important business with a 36 grain lead hollow point. At that weight the projectile is light enough to clear a rifle’s barrel at a velocity over 100 fps faster than the speed of sound. A handgun will not deliver a supersonic muzzle velocity with this ammo, but it should still function correctly if it’s a semi-automatic.
The LHP bullet has not got copper plating, so it’s due to deposit relatively more lead fouling on the barrel. Federal’s clean-igniting primers and propellant will spare your favorite firearm from fouling up unacceptably quickly. The LHP’s nose cavity provides some positive expansion following impact at sufficiently high velocities. Use that terminal performance to teach varmints invaluable lessons on the dangers of getting too close to you!
