Details
9mm M1152 ammunition is loaded for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System program. In other words, Winchester specifically designed this ammo for our Army’s XM17 pistol, which is functionally identical to the SIG Sauer P320. That said, this target ammo will serve you well so long as your firearm is rated for +P!
This round is armed with a 115 grain full metal jacket projectile. Expanding bullets are not used during international warfare, which is why this round’s bullet has a flat nose – a profile which deals greater damage to soft tissue than the round nose alternative. The bullet’s high muzzle velocity also enables it to inflict greater damage, as its muzzle energy is 445 ft lbs – impressive for a 9mm!
You are not obligated to use non-expanding bullets for self-defense, and you would be well advised to select hollow points for that important application. But if you want to train like our soldiers – or just get an idea of how their handguns perform – then Winchester’s brass-cased and non-corrosive M1152 ammo is the best way to go about it!
