20 Rounds of .223 Rem Ammo by Wolf Performance (Steel Case) - 55gr FMJ

I have a LONG history of using Wolf ammo in my AK's but never until recently had a need for this overrated varmint round until I was gifted a nice M4. I am not a fan of the round nor the action of the AR/M4 type rifles but when I got mine I found they are really great fun. I found a couple of boxes of Wolf .223 locally and tried it and found that it grouped as tightly as some Lake City ammo I was given along with the rifle. I did have to make slight zero adjustments but once dialed in.......the ammo performed well. Now, if I was going to be put in a position where I had to use this round to defend myself I would go with an expanding round and figure out how to make on site aiming adjustments to make holes where I want them in relation to my practice ammo. The idea of using a 22 on steroids as a defense/combat round is still something that is beyond me but I have to give it to AR fans, the little carbine I have is incredibly fun to shoot but with iron sights the platform is no more accurate than a good AK with its much harder hitting round and much more reliable action. Now hang an optic on the M4 and I am aware of the flat shooting nature of the 4th best varmint round so I would expect better accuracy outside of about 200 yards. And no, Im not talking WASR AK's or any of the American made AK's with the possible exception of PSAs new enhanced chrome lined PSAK-47.......but rather I am speaking of good imported AK's made by people with a 70 year history of making and improving their rifles (and also using an ALG trigger but then I installed a Timney trigger on my M4). What the heck, too many people love the AR platform and there has to be a reason so I wont argue with their choice and one thing is for sure the rifles are fun as hell to shoot. (Posted on 8/2/2020)
