Don’t come to BulkAmmo.com looking for a single negative word about lead bullets. But we certainly do understand the appeal of copper bullets, which decrease barrel fouling, improve accuracy, deepen penetration, and prevent game wardens from writing up expensive tickets in certain places. That’s why we’re happy to offer Hornady’s excellent Outfitter series 243 Win ammunition for sale!
This cartridge is loaded with an 80 grain Copper alloy eXpanding projectile. Thanks in part to its Heat Shield polymer tip, which streamlines the CX’s nose profile regardless of how violently aerodynamic heating cooks it, the CX is able to achieve a G1 BC of 0.273 (assuming it picks up a 3,200 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel). If your sights are 1.5” and you zero in at 200 yards, you can anticipate a trajectory that elevates by just 1.5”. At that range the bullet plants itself into its target with approximately 1,121 ft lbs of energy. And because the CX’s polymer tip rests over a deep nose cavity, it backs up impact with wide-mushrooming terminal expansion.
Outfitter cartridges are built to withstand rough weather. Not only do these cartridges possess sealed primers and case mouths; their new brass cases are guarded against corrosion by nickel plating as well!
