We’ve got a real East meets West situation going on in this box of 30-06 Springfield ammo! It’s got the beautiful horse on its box that stands for Colt craftsmanship, and its contents are manufactured by Barnaul in Russia to give it superior affordability. Each round features a steel casing, a highly effective method of driving down cost without sacrificing performance. We consider the main tradeoff with steel to be that it’s unsuitable for handloading, but the shiny zinc that this round’s casing is plated with makes certain it can feed and extract without issue as well as resist the kind of corrosion that can gradually impact performance. That along with this round’s non-corrosive Berdan primer means you can sit on this box for ages!
This round’s casing isn’t the only reason it’s magnetic. Its 168 grain bullet features a bimetal jacket, with an under layer of steel that strengthens it considerably. The outer layer of copper protects the bore’s riflings from gumming up with lead residue, and provides nice, smooth feeding out of a magazine as well. A great, budget-friendly range solution from our friends in Connecticut!
