The 300 AAC Blackout was not originally conceived as a varmint hunting cartridge – but with the right bullet, a 300 BLK round becomes any pesky critter’s worst nightmare. Sierra loads this cartridge with their GameChanger (aka Tipped GameKing) projectile so you can turn rodents, coyote and boar into yesterday’s news.
This round’s 125 grain bullet is essentially Sierra’s highly acclaimed MatchKing with two key differences: It has a ballistically efficient polymer tip, and it is designed for terminal expansion. The sleek and balanced boat tailed bullet boasts a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.318. Its trajectory only has to arch by about 5.8” en route to a 200-yard target, and its velocity doesn’t turn subsonic until approximately 523 yards. This is to say that the GameChanger is accurate!
The GameChanger utilizes a durable lead alloy core and copper jacket to ensure deep penetration of the quarry. Its transparent green tip forces its way into the bullet’s hollow point nose cavity to compel fast, wide and absolutely devastating terminal expansion. Dramatic results on small game!
