This cartridge is loaded in the state of Utah with Doubletap’s own Controlled Expansion jacketed hollow point projectile. The JHP is precision engineered to begin commencing wide terminal expansion the instant it plunges into soft tissue. The bullet’s 1,750 fps muzzle velocity (6” test bbl) translates to well over 800 ft lbs of energy delivery at close range. (For context, minimum energy transfer of 220–300 ft lbs is typically recommended for defensive applications.) But because the Controlled Expansion JHP expands like clockwork, it effectively reduces the risk of passing through the threat entirely.
This factory fresh brass-cased ammo features flash-suppressed powder. It won’t offer any advantage during the daytime – but at night, it will help to prevent muzzle flash from blinding you. That’s a massive advantage, because you are much better able to hit your target when you’re also able to see it.
