The SP’s partial copper jacket deters fragmentation to promote deeper penetration. Its lead core smashes down as it plows through a soft medium – doubling its diameter to gouge a wide wound channel while shedding harmful kinetic energy in all directions. It’s a very old design for a hunting/self-defense bullet, and still around to this day for one reason: it works.
