Details
This ammunition represents a perfect matchup. You have the 6.5 Creedmoor, one of the finest long-distance rounds ever introduced to the market. And then you have Barnes, the innovative company which creates the ammunition for the U.S. Army’s own Modular Sniper Rifle. In short, this is the ammo that turns an AR into a precision instrument.
This cartridge features Barnes’ 140 grain open tip match boat tail. Their OTM BT’s jacket is drawn to exact tolerances and filled with a solid lead core that matches its contours perfectly. The OTM’s boat tail is long, narrow, and possesses the optimal geometry to limit how much drag the bullet can produce in flight. This bullet also has a narrow hollow point meplat, although it is not structured to provide terminal expansion.
Barnes loads this ammo with a match grade brass case, primer and propellant charge to heighten its bullet’s accuracy even further. The net result? A 0.586 G1 ballistic coefficient that yields a level trajectory, a constant rate of velocity decline over hundreds of yards, and impressive resistance to cross and vertical wind drift. Barnes says it even rivals expert handloads!
