“End of the line, varmint!” Make sure to say that every time you squeeze the trigger while you’re hunting with Hornady V-Match ammunition. It’s the old Nebraskan manufacturer’s highest-tech solution to varmint hunting to date!
This 6mm ARC cartridge pushes an 80 grain ELD-VT bullet out of a 24” barrel at a velocity of 3,100 fps. The ELD-VT’s high ballistic coefficient (G1 0.410; G7 0.206) is the product of several features: a boat tail, a balanced AMP jacket, and a Heat Shield tip which stays streamlined under the heat of aerodynamic friction.
The ELD-VT’s tip is perched on the rim of its thin jacket. Its long tail does not touch the flat surface of its rearward-situated core – until impact, that is. Once the Heat Shield meets the lead, it forces the entire bullet to explode into lead and copper fragments. The ELD-VT remains effective even at lower velocities, so you can bear the full fruits of this ammo while you’re zeroing in way, way downrange.
Hornady’s V-Match ammo features high-quality brass cases, long sleek bullets, and carefully matched powder charges and primers. It’s a great pick even if you’re giving the varmints a day off while you do your thing at the range.
