Details
M118LR is the U.S. Armed Forces’ own long-distance sniping cartridge. Can you use this 7.62x51 ammunition by Winchester for short and medium range shooting as well? Absolutely. Will it work in a 308 rifle? Without question. Will you love it? We believe so!
An M118LR is not an M118LR unless it has a 175 grain MatchKing. This round’s bullet has a thin jacket, which is drawn to a concentricity standard of +/-0.0003 inches. That complements its form-fitted lead core to enhance near-perfect in-flight stability. The MatchKing also has a 9° tapered boat tail and extremely narrow hollow meplat, both of which add up to a high 0.496 G1 ballistic coefficient. At that measure a bullet like this remains supersonic beyond 1,000 yards. Zero in at 500 yards and witness as your trajectory rises by no more than 24 inches!
This highly accurate sniper’s ammo has military-grade Boxer primers, brass cases, and clean burning propellant. Maybe you’ve never fired the M118LR before – or maybe you used to fire it all the time for your last job. Either way you’ll see that Winchester has really hit the mark with this ammo!
