Details

The honey badger is a nasty little bit of goods. It roams the countryside in search of whatever it feels like eating, pausing only eat, piddle, and maim any other animals it encounters for its own twisted amusement.

What better animal to name this 9mm +P round’s super potent 100 grain bullet after? The HoneyBadger doesn’t have a hollow point nose cavity because it doesn’t need to expand inside of its target to neutralize it. Instead it relies on its four sharp edges, which form little troughs running down its side. As the HoneyBadger whirls through soft tissue like a drill bit, those troughs compress and jet away any material they come into contact with. The resulting wound cavity is enormous.

This round’s HoneyBadger feeds with ease through a semi-auto, as its profile isn’t remotely as blunt as a JHP’s. As it is made entirely of copper, the bullet causes only very little fouling and is essentially incapable of fragmenting as it penetrates a barrier or its target. And because this is a +P round, the HoneyBadger has even more energy with which to work.

This round is loaded by Black Hills Ammunition, a South Dakotan manufacturer and preferred supplier to the U.S. Armed Forces. They select only sterling components for all of their cartridges, and this one’s strong brass, sensitive primer, and reliable propellant are no exception.
