Federal Personal Defense HST: serious 9mm +P ammo for serious situations. This is actually the same ammo Federal supplies to law enforcement agencies. Only its packaging is different.

Why is this cartridge so effective for self-defense applications? Because it is specifically designed around the FBI test protocol for duty ammunition, and as such its 124 grain jacketed hollow point is accurate. The HST brand projectile’s hollow point nose cavity is additionally designed to resist becoming obstructed with debris such as fabric and drywall particles, which preserves its ability to produce debilitating terminal expansion within the threat.

This ammo’s smooth-feeding bullets are evenly seated within nickel-plated brass cases. Nickel adds a lot to a case’s performance. Not only does it make the case smoother to promote steadier feeding and shinier so it is easier to see in the chamber – it also protects the round against corroding and becoming too coarse to function correctly in a semi-automatic.

This is +P ammunition. Its hotter propellant charge propels its bullet to a relatively faster muzzle velocity: 1,200 fps out of a 4” barrel, which means a flatter trajectory that transfers more kinetic energy to the target. Make certain only to fire this ammo in firearms that are +P rated.
