This 2-3/4" 20 Gauge shotshell is loaded with a 3/4 ounce rifled slug. At 1,360 fps, the projectile’s muzzle velocity is high enough for it to deliver roughly five times the minimum recommended energy for self-defense to a close-range target. The solid lead projectile will not undergo terminal expansion, but man, whatta punch all the same. The slug’s rifling doesn’t actually help it fly straighter. It’s just there to permit safe clearance through a choke tube. Not for rifled bore shotguns!
