Let’s get straight to the point – the Power Point, which has remained a mainstay in the American deer hunting scene since its introduction in 1961. This 270 Win round’s 150 grain soft point projectile is designed to deliver the rapid expansion and the effectively deep penetration that are both ideal for bagging – you guessed it – deer!
The 150 grain Power Point isn’t a match grade bullet, but it has got the rotationally stable core and jacket and aerodynamic profile it needs to follow a clean, flat trajectory downrange. Once it achieves its billed muzzle velocity of 2,850 fps, the 0.351 G1 BC projectile will drop -3.7” at 200 yards after reaching its 100-yard zero.
The Power Point doesn’t need a high-tech polymer tip to get the job done. Its specially notched jacket allows the soft lead tip to splay out evenly in all directions, which assures the rapid energy transfer that kills deer deader than the DMV on Christmas. Though it does lack a bonded jacket, the Power Point does a fine job staying intact enough to access a medium-size critter’s boiler room. Brass-cased, reloadable, clean-shooting and always made in America!
