300 AAC Blackout ammunition that’s perfect for hunting deer, predators and varmints? That’s the power of Power-Shok! Federal loads this fine ammo in the great state of Minnesota so you can fill up your bag without emptying out your wallet!
This round is adorned with a 150 grain jacketed soft point projectile. It’s a simple bullet compared to a high-tech monolithic or polymer tipped alternative, but it combines the accuracy with the terminal expansion it needs to get the job done. The lead core bullet hangs on to a flat trajectory, and retains enough momentum to undergo expansion following impact at 1,550 fps – almost 170 yards. The JSP’s rigid jacket and tough core will undergo some separation, but it’ll still retain enough momentum to reach a medium game animal’s vitals.
Each Power-Shok round features a newborn brass case and corrosion-free Boxer primer. Its 150 grain bullet means that this round classifies as supersonic. It’ll still work well enough with a suppressor, but it won’t give you the subsonic performance of a 200 or 220 grain load.
