Details
This 300 AAC Blackout cartridge by Hornady features a 110 grain GMX projectile, a bullet which is made entirely from copper alloy save for its polymer tip. The nature of its monolithic construction means that the GMX delivers up to 95 percent weight retention during penetration, and also that it preserves your rifle’s accuracy by fouling its bore significantly less than a bullet with lead in it would have. The GMX is also legal to fire in areas where toxic projectiles are banned, including the state of California.
The long GMX is accurate thanks in part to its pressure relieving grooves and crimping cannelure, which work in conjunction to reduce its drag and bearing surface. Its pointed polymer tip does more than simply streamline its profile -- it further initiates rapid expansion when it gets wedged into the bullet’s hollow cavity upon impact, giving the GMX the terminal performance needed to drop medium game fast. Throw in a reloadable brass casing and propellant formulated to deliver a reliable muzzle velocity of 2,285 fps, and you’ve got a round worthy of staking a hunt on.
