You’re not shooting with so much precision that you need an ultra-tight OTM. You’re also not hunting, which means a soft point or high-tech PT would be a waste. You’re just punching targets for the love of the pastime, and you reckon regular old FMJ loads will do the trick nicely.

Here are your regular old FMJ loads. Winchester’s USA label 308 Winchester is as basic as basic can be. Other rounds are more accurate, which isn’t to say the FMJ won’t go where you will it to. Other rounds’ terminal ballistics are more conducive to hunting, which isn’t to say a 308’s 147 grain FMJ is weak.

Quite the contrary, in fact. Once the steel-free bullet has roared out of a 24” barrel at a velocity of 2,800 fps, it’ll only have to rise about 2.6” above the bore line before careening into a 200-yard target (0.415 G1 BC). That’s a flat trajectory however you slice it.

This ammo doesn’t have discolored brass. The cases’ shoulders have been lovingly polished to a crisp, golden sheen (or something like it), so they’re every bit as pretty as they are reloadable.
