Details
This 9mm cartridge from Federal’s Personal Defense line of ammunition features the American manufacturer’s HST projectile. The bullet’s hollow cavity is designed in such a way as to prevent itself from jamming up with media before it can unleash its deadly expansion within a soft target. During expansion this bullet’s core and jacket peel pack to produce six deadly cutting petals, but without losing the weight they need to guarantee deep penetration. Not too deep, however -- an HST burrows to the perfect depth within a threat in order to incapacitate it, without overpentrating and putting innocents at risk.
This round’s casing is made of brass, and is reloadable. Furthermore, it’s plated in nickel to enhance its lubricity for smooth feeding and ejection in a semi-automatic, let it avoid corroding when it comes into contact with moisture and humidity, and make it more visible during a spontaneous chamber check. This round also owes its superior reliability to its bullet’s nose profile, which is engineered to promote seamless feeding.

A: Hi Chris! This Federal HST Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) round would be a great choice for use as a self-defense round in a Glock 19. For the range and practice, Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) rounds would be a more economical choice.
