Say hello to the Minishell! Aguila invented the 1-3/4” mini shotshell at their state-of-the-art factory down Mexico way, and it’s a ton of fun to use for all kinds of target shooting!
You’d be right to expect less power from such a stumpy shotgun shell. Although its muzzle velocity is perfectly average at 1,200 fps, this round’s itty-bitty 5/8 ounce charge of #7.5 lead shot is significantly lighter than usual. But that’s a huge advantage if you’re trying to experience the lowest-recoil performance of your life. It’s also great if you’re trying not to make very much noise – or if you’d like to stuff ten shells into a tubular magazine that normally holds six 2-3/4” shells!
Word to the wise (i.e. you): this ammo can’t cycle a semi-auto. Its chamber pressure isn’t high enough, and its hull is to short. Many pump-action shotguns also cant fire Minishells before they have been specially modified for that purpose.
