This round packs a 1-ounce payload of #8.5 shot. It’s a less common shot size, but an effective one at ranges of 15 to 30 yards. You’ll get a denser pattern than you would have with #8 shot – and, naturally, more striking energy than you would have with #9 shot. A good compromise.

This round’s shot is made of high-antimony lead. Lead becomes extremely rigid when it is alloyed with 5% antimony, which helps reduce deformation. It also retains good density at that antimony level, which the shot pellets use to conserve more momentum downrange.

Each High Over All shell is loaded with Federal’s own Podium wad, which is designed to soften recoil impulse with its unique disc-shaped compression zone. This ammo’s hulls readily accept other manufacturers’ wads, and have solid brass caps instead of cheaper brass-plated steel ones. You’ll love reloading this stuff!
