This 20 Gauge shotshell by Aguila is not loaded with #2 shot! It is loaded with #2 buckshot, which is 0.27” in diameter instead of 0.15” in diameter like #2 shot. A #2 buck pellet weighs approximately 29.4 grains, which means this single shell harbors over one dozen pellets of exceedingly effective lead balls.

This shell is great for hunting deer in areas with thick vegetation, and it’s certain to put the hurting to varmints, coyote and other predators as well. But #2 buck also excels at tactical applications. Although they are smaller than the 00 buck typically used by law enforcement professionals, #2 buck pellets are still perfectly capable of immediately halting a threat’s advance. Smaller shot delivers a thicker pattern that puts more pellets on target, and it also reduces (but doesn’t eliminate) the risk of over-penetration.
