Remington Express Extra Long Range (XLR) ammunition won’t magically turn your 410 Bore shotgun into some kind of tack driver that can down doves in neighboring time zones. But it will give you the reliable, effective performance you need to bag rabbit, squirrel and small birds within reasonable distances. And hey – if you really know what you’re doing, then we bet you could even use this shell to anchor a tom!
This is a 3” shell. That means it won’t work in a 410/45 revolver if it only has 2-1/2” chambers. It also means it carries a heavier column of shot: a generous 11/16 ounces (relatively speaking, of course). On ignition the shell expels 155 pellets of #6 lead shot – each of which can dig a 0.11” diameter hole into its target. The shell’s high-brass head is a nice bonus, and its hull is reloadable (so long as you’ve got the patience requisite for reloading the famously finicky 410).
