Details
Sellier & Bellot of the Czech Republic has made some reliable and multi-talented 12 Gauge ammunition for we Americans right here. This round is a fine choice for target practice. It is appropriate for deer and coyote hunting. And if you would prefer smaller buckshot for home defense, this shell should meet your standards.
This shotshell is loaded with 1-1/8 ounces of #1 buckshot. Whereas a pellet of 00 buck is 0.33” in diameter, a pellet of #1 buck is 0.30” in diameter. It is not a dramatic difference in size, but it is why this standard length 2-3/4” shell is able to hold 12 shot pellets and the powder it needs to achieve supersonic 1,214 fps muzzle velocity.
According to the manufacturer, each pellet that comes out of this shell has a muzzle energy of 177 ft lbs. That’s relatively anemic on its own, but all together the combined shot column’s muzzle energy exceeds 2,000 ft lbs – significantly more powerful than a 5.56x45 cartridge at close range. Smaller buckshot pellets deliver a denser pattern, which is advantageous if you are hunting in thick vegetation, and because each pellet retains relatively less momentum it also poses a lower chance of potentially disastrous over-penetration.
These shotshells are loaded with 0.49” long brass heads, felt wads, semi-transparent plastic tubes, and clean-igniting primers and powder.

Q: My concern is "Feed" issues in a semi-automatic weapon....Any known issues?? Anybody??

A: Thanks for reaching out Chaz! I cannot guarantee any kind of performance out of a shotgun I have not personally tested, but I am unaware of and do not foresee any reasons why this ammo should fail to function correctly in a semi-automatic firearm.
Q: The write up says velocity of 1214, but the box says Max Charge which would indicate about 1325 to me. So, what is the true muzzle velocity for these?

A: Thank you for reaching out Kent! I would never contradict your conclusion, although I must defer to the manufacturer when I write a description for a product. I pulled the 1,214 fps muzzle velocity datum from Sellier & Bellot's own website. You can see their product page for this shotshell here: https://www.sellier-bellot.cz/en-us/products/shotgun-shells/detail/588/
