Details

A smaller cartridge like the 32 ACP is still a great choice for self-defense so long as it is loaded with a good jacketed hollow point. That’s why Hornady loads their Custom series ammunition with nothing less than their very own eXtreme Terminal Performance!

This round’s 60 grain jacketed hollow point feeds smoothly thanks to its fully jacketed rim, and its balanced swaged lead core and concentric jacket both grant it the rotational stability requisite for great accuracy. Its jacket also prevents the XTP from receiving damage on impact that could impair its ability to deliver terminal expansion.

As the inside of the XTP’s nose cavity becomes pressurized, the jacket splits apart along the serrations surrounding its rim. The jacket is also thinnest around the rim, which ensures even more reliable terminal expansion following lower-velocity impact. That does much to compensate for the 32 ACP’s relatively low muzzle energy!

Hornady selects hard, corrosion resistant and consistently drawn brass cases for their Custom loads, as well as carefully matched Boxer primers and low-residue propellant. The old company takes care to put handload quality into each factory loaded Custom series cartridge they roll out of their Nebraskan factory.
