Details
Hornady engineers their Critical Duty line of ammunition for the boys in blue – cops, who clock into each shift totally unaware of whatever challenges lie ahead. That’s why this 357 Magnum ammunition is supremely reliable, and is loaded with a jacketed hollow point which achieves consistent terminal ballistics under a wide range of circumstances.
And here’s the good news: if you’re not a cop, then you can still have the best self-defense ammo ever to come out of the great state of Nebraska.
This round’s 135 grain JHP is the FlexLock: “Flex” because its polymer Flex Tip keeps its nose cavity unobstructed by debris that could inhibit expansion, and “Lock” because its lead-antimony alloy core and thick copper jacket are mechanically locked together via its InterLock band. Deep penetration. Wide expansion. Virtually instantaneous incapacitation of the threat with good shot placement.
Fire this ammo in a revolver with an 8” barrel, and you’re looking at almost 400 ft lbs of striking energy at 50 yards. Any revolver or lever gun will capably handle this ammo, though. Its nickel-plated brass cases are a welcome finishing touch, as they fend off corrosion in storage and out in the field.
