Please note: This subsonic 22 LR ammo may fail to cycle some semi-automatic firearms. We can make no guarantees that this ammo will fully cycle your semi-automatic handgun or rifle.
This 22 LR ammo by Aguila is right quiet. Although its bullet weighs in normal at 40 grains, its lighter propellant charge is not powerful enough to make it break the sound barrier. The 22 LR was never a very noisy cartridge to begin with, but you’ll barely need hearing protection at all with Aguila Subsonic!
This round’s bullet is a basic lead round nose: no copper plating that protects against lead fouling, no hollow point that enables terminal expansion. Just a simple chunk of lead. Still plenty accurate, although a bullet like this only belongs on the target range – or perhaps the lawn as well, if there are squirrels or other little pest animals who need to go away.
Aguila’s Mexican-made ammo is brass-cased, non-corrosive, and nonmagnetic. They’ve earned a big following for themselves in the rimfire community, and it takes only one box of their ammo to see why that is!
