Doubletap had one goal in mind when they made this 38 Special ammunition: accuracy that doesn’t break the bank. That’s why it’s loaded to exceedingly tight tolerances and outfitted with an ideal bullet for target shooting!

This cartridge’s 148 grain hard cast wadcutter is a somewhat unique projectile. Although it contains a good amount of lead, the bullet is alloyed with other metals which harden it substantially. That means the bullet will leave behind virtually zero lead fouling on the bore, which preserves the rifling’s capacity to impart gyroscopic stability to subsequent projectiles. As a wadcutter, the bullet sports a tube-like profile that ends in a flat meplat. When it connects with paper or cardboard, the wadcutter pretty much behaves like a hole punch. As such it creates a much tidier hole than any round nose FMJ or LRN alternative.

This round’s non-deforming bullet is loaded to achieve a muzzle velocity of 740 fps out of a 2” barrel, 800 fps out of a 4” barrel, and 855 fps out of a 6” barrel. It’s seated in a premium reloadable brass case and backed by very clean-sparking explosive bits. Made in the great state of Utah!
