When you want to save money on 308 Win range and target ammunition, you want MAXXTech Essential Steel! This brand new ammunition was manufactured at Russia’s Tula Cartridge Works, and it substitutes steel in place of brass so you don’t have to invest in nearly as much copper as you normally would.
This round is loaded with a 150 grain full metal jacket. The projectile has a traditional lead core. Instead of gilding metal, its jacket is predominantly made of soft steel. The exterior of the jacket sports a thin coating of copper for added cosmetics, but make no mistake: This ammo’s bullets will attract a magnet, which makes them unwelcome at some commercial shooting ranges. Ask your range if magnetic ammo is okay before you go investing in a case of 500 rounds!
This ammo’s cases are very obviously made of steel. Steel cases make ammo significantly easier on the wallet, although they aren’t reloadable. Tula only loads noncorrosive Berdan primers, and their cases are coated with low-friction polyurethane that provides some protection against corrosion.
