The wadcutter! A flat nose, cylindrical and solid lead projectile that is preferred by serious target shooters for its ability to chop a round hole through paper or cardboard. It’s what makes this Super-X series Super Match 38 Special ammunition a perfect choice for competitive shooting. But if you’re just plinking with your boys, then you’ll still be glad you made Winchester a part of your plinking adventure.
This round’s bullet weighs 148 grains. Its 710 fps muzzle velocity is fairly low in light of its weight, which is why you’ll notice very little recoil while you’re blasting away. Naturally, this ammo would make a fine low-recoil choice for any 357 Magnum firearm as well, including a lever action.
Does this round’s wadcutter have a hollow base? Indeed it does! It puts more of the bullet’s weight toward its nose, which helps it remain more stable in flight (still not a great choice of bullet if you’re aiming to 1,000 yards, but you already knew that).
This round’s unjacketed and non-expanding projectile is sunk inside a new brass case. It’s reloadable, it’s noncorrosive, and we’d even be so bold as to say it’s fantastic.
