Are you going to spend a lot of time shooting steel targets? Then you’ll have a lot to like about this 40 S&W ammo by Federal beyond the fact that there’s whole case of it. A Syntech Action Pistol’s bullet is wrapped in a Total Synthetic Jacket, which essentially eliminates the chance of splash-back ruining your day while you’re hitting steel targets. This special jacket also measurably lessens the wear and tear that high volume shooting will inflict on your pistol’s barrel, and protects the lead in the core from evaporating during ignition. The TSJ also works in conjunction with this round’s clean burning propellant to deliver good accuracy for longer in between cleanings.
This round’s heavier 205 grain bullet will do a better job of knocking a steel target over, as will its broad meplat. This round also delivers softer recoil, so you’ll be able to keep your sights better trained on your target after each shot. With so many features to offer, there’s little wonder why the USPSA chose Syntech Action Pistol as their official ammo.
