Winchester Super Suppressed: a perfect investment in any suppressed OR unsuppressed firearm!
Obviously, there’s not much of a big deal to be made out of this cartridge’s subsonic performance. Its 230 grain bullet and 850 fps muzzle velocity are both perfectly normal for any type of 45 Auto round, which is subsonic by design. But as a full metal jacket encapsulated, the bullet does offer substantially cleaner performance than normal.
A normal FMJ’s copper jacket exposes the lead core’s base to exploding propellant, thus allowing lead vaporization. An “FMJ encapsulated,” on the other hand, includes a little brass disc which prevents propellant from scorching lead off the core. That’s why this ammo keeps a bore and suppressor both cleaner – and keeps the immediate vicinity surrounding the shooter cleaner as well. Healthier air; cleaner indoor range!
This reloadable brass-cased cartridge’s 850 fps muzzle velocity was captured with a 4” test barrel. Velocity and energy at 25 yards are 834 fps and 355 ft lbs, respectively.
