Good news! You can now order a very small mountain of 5.7 thanks to our good pals at FN Herstal. This SS201 spec cartridge isn’t loaded with a 40 grain V-MAX like the SS197SR, but its 40 grain full metal jacket and 1,700 fps muzzle velocity do a fantastic job emulating the more expensive self-defense round’s recoil and point of aim. That’s a nonmagnetic FMJ for compliance at all ranges, with the hard copper jacket and pointed nose profile which ensure legit feeding in all makes and models.
Firing a carbine with a 16” barrel? Then you can expect a muzzle velocity closer to 2,040 fps (which FN Herstal recorded with a PS90). Looking for the ideal 5.7 ammo for handloading? Then look no further, because FN’s noncorrosive Boxer-primed rounds will satisfy!
