Some types of ammo are easy to come by, but others you’ve got to jump on then the opportunity arises. This 5.7x28mm ammunition by FN Herstal, the very folks who invented the round? Definitely falls in the latter category.

This round will turn any PS90 or AR-57 into an absolute varmint crushing machine. It won’t shortchange a carry weapon, either, because its 40 grain V-MAX delivers potent fragmentation. Hornady’s V-MAX features a polymer tip that sits on the rim of the jacket and projects into a cavity formed within the swaged lead core. On impact that tip is instantly driven inward, resulting in complete upset of the core and jacket alike.

The V-MAX also delivers over long ranges. Its tip forms an aerodynamic meplat, and its profile provides an optimal bearing surface area for great rotational stability. Expansion takes place at lower velocities, too, so you can bag varmints that appear as mere specs to the naked eye.

This round’s new brass casing will present a semi-auto with no difficulty as it feeds, chambers, and extracts rapidly, and its propellant creates a consistent 2,034 fps muzzle velocity. It’s a necessary accompaniment to any firearm capable of chambering it!

A: Hi Dusty! I can't guarantee any kind of performance out of a firearm that I haven't personally inspected and tested. That said, this ammo should work fine in any carbine.
