We’re sure you’re as American as they come, and are so patriotic that you can’t go for a walk outside without multiple bald eagles landing to perch on your shoulders. But does that mean you can’t appreciate the 7.62x54r? Not at all!
Red Army Standard is the brand name Century International Arms puts on the ammunition created for them by Tula. You will accordingly read “Tulammo” on this ammo’s steel cases. Steel cases do their job well enough, although they are somewhat more vulnerable to becoming corroded and they aren’t reloadable.
This round is loaded with a 148 grain full metal jacket projectile, which possesses no features that could enable terminal expansion. Tula reduces their production costs by making their bullets’ jackets out of soft steel. Like its cases, this ammo’s bullets will attract a magnet. Plan on which ranges you fire this ammo at accordingly.
Berdan primers operate on a slightly different principle than Boxer primers, but they deliver interchangeable results. Tula no longer loads corrosive primers, so this new production ammo will not destroy your Mosin-Nagant with rust if you don’t take special steps while cleaning it.
