We have to be honest: A lot of people love Federal’s Syntech Range ammo just because it’s bullet looks so neat. What’s not to love about a red bullet? But this 9mm range ammo isn’t just interesting to look at. That red bullet actually offers a lot of high-tech performance advantages.
This 9mm cartridge’s 124 grain Total Synthetic Jacket (TSJ) bullet is meant for the same training and target shooting applications as the traditional, non-expanding full metal jacket (FMJ). But this bullet’s jacket is made of polymer instead of copper. That means it eliminates metal-on-metal contact within the bore, which significantly decreases both fouling and friction. Your barrel will remain cleaner as you fire your handgun, and it will also wear out at a slower rate!
The TSJ bullet is also safer to train with. Its polymer jacket poses no threat of breaking apart to ricochet back at you, so the TSJ essentially eliminates dangerous splash-back. This bullet’s lead core is not touched by hot propellant gasses during ignition, and its Catalyst primer is 100 percent lead-free. If you’re training indoors, Federal’s Syntech Range ammo is going to dramatically reduce your exposure to toxic lead.
This ammo even delivers lower perceived recoil. Its brass cases are great for reloading, and its clean-burning propellant does even more to keep a firearm accurate in between cleanings. A great selection for any 9mm pistol or carbine!
