Details
This 9mm cartridge by Fiocchi features the 92 grain Expansion Monoblock (EMB) bullet. Made entirely of copper and bronze with a jacket engineered to avoid separating, the EMB is a tough bullet capable of penetrating cloth before plowing about six inches deep into soft tissue. The EMB’s unique structure enables it to expand significantly more reliably than a conventional JHP, as it doesn’t possess a deep nose cavity capable of clogging with debris.
The EMB produces a very nasty wound cavity – about double the bullet’s original .355” diameter – yet its tendency to avoid overpenetration makes it of especial value for self-defense defense in the home or near a crowd. The EMB is also lead-free bullet. Some might point out that makes it more environmentally friendly, but we doubt Mother Earth will top your list of concerns if you ever need to fire this ammo.
Fiocchi innovates, but they don’t experiment outside of their laboratory. They have tested and produced a highly effective self-defense bullet with the EMB, and outfitted it with the sterling brass, primer, and propellant it needs to shine when you need it. And while the EMB’s lack of lead does make it unusually light, it compensates for that with its speed: 1,300 fps out of the muzzle to punch 350 ft lbs of force into its target!
