Details
The suppressor is an impressive instrument, but it by no means works miracles. To let yours work to its fullest potential, you would best give it a round like this 22 LR from CCI’s aptly named Suppressor line of ammunition. At only 970 fps, its muzzle velocity is substantially slower than what it would take to burst the sound barrier, and it accordingly delivers a report which a suppressor has an easy time of muffling.
While this round’s 45 grain bullet is made of lead and thus affordable enough for plinking, it’s further suited perfectly for hunting varmints such as prairie dogs and woodchuck. The bullet’s hollow point nose cavity initiates wide expansion even with relatively little energy behind it.
This round’s propellant burns clean and is loaded to still properly cycle a semi-automatic weapon. CCI’s rimfire primer is a paragon of the rimfire primer world, and their brass casings don’t inhibit seamless functionality. This case of ammo is divided up into plastic dispenser boxes which make the filling of magazines a straightforward affair.
