Let’s get right to it: What does M1152 mean? That’s simply the U.S. Army’s designation for the 9mm ammunition designed for their Modular Handgun System program’s XM17 and XM18 pistols (aka SIG Sauer P320).
This ammunition is a great pick for target shooting when you want a flatter trajectory – but only if your firearm is rated for +P. While this ammo is not technically classified as +P, its 115 grain bullet and 1,320 fps muzzle velocity will in fact produce more chamber pressure than a standard 9mm round. Not sure if your pistol is rated for +P? Read the manual, check with the manufacturer, or shoot us a note in the Product Q & A below!
This round’s noncorrosive Boxer-primed brass case seats a full metal jacket flat nose projectile. While the FMJ FN is indeed designed to deal more damage than a round nose bullet, we don’t recommend selecting a non-expanding bullet for personal protection applications. But if you only fire this ammo at the range, you’ll still appreciate the neat holes a flat nose bullet punches into a cardboard or paper target. Made in America, which we think you’ll agree is the best country for the U.S. Army’s handgun ammo to come from. This is new ammo, not military surplus.
