Details

This 250-shell case is an excellent choice for shotgun owners who like to spend a lot of time on the range or in the field. Part of Federal’s Power-shok hunting line, these shells fire nine 00 buck pellets at 1,325 feet per second, producing enough power to take most game at short to medium ranges. Federal’s premium buffers and spiral loading system further augment the shell’s accuracy and knockdown capabilities. Each case holds 50 five-round boxes.

Founded in 1922, Federal Premium Ammunition has occupied its production site in Anoka, Minnesota for nearly a century. A division of Alliant Techsystems, the company currently produces ammunition in nearly every category from cheap plinking and target ammo to premium hollow points and match cartridges. Federal employs almost 1,400 people in Anoka as well as a large team in Independence, Missouri, where it oversees production of ammo for the US military at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.

A: Thanks for reaching out Paul! This shell has Federal's Triple Plus wad system. It's a two-piece wad column that has an overpowder gas seal with a compressible center hollow post and a plastic shot cup with four slits.

A: Thanks for reaching out Mark! I cannot guarantee any kind of performance from a shotgun I have not personally tested. That said, I've not encountered any complaints of this ammo's functionality in a semi-auto, and its 1,325 fps MV and ~1.1oz. shot column should certainly generate sufficient chamber pressure to fully cycle a semi-auto. To be certain, this is full-recoil ammo – not the low-recoil stuff which frequently poses complications. I hope you find its performance satisfactory!

A: Yes indeed, that's a hearty pump-action that can cycle either 2-3/4" and 3" shells like clockwork. This ammo ought to give no functional 870 any issues whatsoever!
