A high powered 12-gauge, the Rio Royal 12-gauge packs a punch. Loaded with CSB smokeless powder, these 2¾ inch shotgun shells encase 9 pellets of 00 buckshot and can reach a muzzle velocity up to 1345 fps. Best used for hunting, these rounds are also good for self-defense. Theses shells do, however, have substantial recoil and a tendency to over-penetrate. This makes them not ideal for close quarters situations where collateral damage could occur.
