Federal's Black Cloud shotgun loads are expressly designed for field excellence with a plethora of premium features and components. Each of these 12 gauge shells carries 1-1/2 ounces of #2 shot which is an excellent choice for geese and ducks. The shot pellets are made of non-toxic steel which is appropriate for use in lead-free wetlands under government regulation. 40% of the pellets are Federal's unique Flitestoppers which have a cutting edge around their diameter for greater wound cavitation that will drop birds with positive effect.

The shot pellets are hosted by the Flex version of the Flitecontrol wad which can be fired from ported chokes without ill effect. Flitecontrol wads leave the muzzle while containing the shot in their cups and are slowed to the rear after a few feet, allowing the pellets to continue their travel with a distinctly dense pattern; this contributes to greater energy transfer to ducks and capability for the hunter to engage at longer distances. Long range performance is assisted by a powerful load of propellant which is contained within a moisture-resistant black-nickel head and 3-1/2 inch plastic hull.
