250 Rounds of 12ga Ammo by Winchester - 1 1/8 ounce #7 Shot (Steel)

A great price on 12 gauge steel shot suitable for waterfowl and sporting clays or other range sports. The improvement on several fronts to make up for the lighter, less potent steel shot shells, more than makes up for the alleged weaknesses in an all steel shot shell. The larger payload is one way to counteract the lightened weight (1 1/8 ounce instead of 1 ounce); the velocity increase and a slight powder increase also is a tool used to improve the performance. These two methods elongate the performance curve for target shooting and duck/goose work as the load can now deflect wind better, hit with more pellets in a denser pattern and will move to target more speedily before the drag effect takes hold.

Another methodology implemented is the #7 shot which is 1-2 sizes larger than an equivalent lead loads (typically 8, 8.5 or 9 shot). This harder hitting pellet size will have more impact on target and deflect less in wind.

Altogether, these improvements on the overall design implementation take the steel shot based shell and brings it to a place beyond where the lead shot was in the first place. Hunters and sport shooters can feel confident that the Winchester Super-X XPERT loads are going to perform in a substantially similar way, if not better than comparable lead loads.
